Liverpool Legal Services Limited [‘Liverpool Legal’] is the successor practice to E. Rex Makin & Co.

Rex Makin & Co was founded in 1949 by Rex Makin, Liverpool’s most famous solicitor. Rex Makin was also a weekly columnist for the Liverpool Echo for many years. The firm started from a small office in Hackins Hey (off Dale Street) and grew over time to occupy more space in those premises. In 1978 the firm moved to Whitechapel, in the heart of Liverpool City Centre. E. Rex Makin & Co was synonymous with access to justice in Liverpool, acting in many high profile and unusual matters and serving the needs of communities in Liverpool and beyond. 

Liverpool Legal will continue the legacy of E. Rex Makin & Co.  From the straightforward to cases of the highest profile and complexity, the ethos of a resolute determination to do the best for its clients will continue. Liverpool Legal strive to provide clear and effective advice to individuals, businesses, charities and public bodies professionally and sympathetically.

Liverpool Legal is headed by Robin Makin (Rex’s son), a Solicitor Advocate (all Higher Courts) with over 35 years of post-qualification experience and fellow Directors Gill Scales and Paul Currie.
